The Medium/High Voltage Lineman installs, maintains, and repairs the electrical distribution and transmission lines that carry power from generation sources at the CMI customer site in Beltsville, MD.
Key Job Functions
Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground medium to high voltage power lines, transformers, circuit breakers, and switches.
String wire conductors, set utility poles, and erect transmission towers using specialized heavy machinery (e.g., bucket trucks, digger derricks, and cranes).
Inspect, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems and components to identify problems, clear faulty circuits, and locate cable faults.
Work on-call schedules and respond immediately to power outages and emergencies caused by inclement weather or equipment failure.
Attach grounding devices to remove electrical hazards and clear away tree branches or hazards near energized, live power installations
Performs other related duties as required
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Must have at least 5 years of experience as a Medium or High Voltage linesman
Must have Journeyman Lineman experience
Class B CDL
Must submit licenses with resume
Emergency response is a core part of this position, as such, the individual must be able to respond to emergency situations and be able to work on Holidays and weekends
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 100 lbs), climb utility poles and towers, and work in cramped, elevated, or confined spaces.
Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
Must be able to pass a government background check
