We are launching a brand-new Interfacility Transport team to safely transport patients between our four Free Standing Emergency Departments and two facilities, Trident Hospital and Summerville Hospital. Multiple openings for EMT and Paramedic positions are available, with shifts for both day and night. We also offer full-time and PRN options, with a commitment to rotating weekends as part of your schedule.

Job Summary and Qualifications
- The Transport Emergency Medical Technician will be an essential member of the EMS Transport Services team. The primary responsibility will include assisting the Paramedic in delivering safe and effective patient care during transportation.
- Respond to transport requests from the Call-Center and collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate efficient patient transfers.
- When needed, provide care in Free Standing Emergency Departments and the main Emergency Department under the supervision of a Paramedic or RN, adhering to hospital goals and protocols.
- Perform all required responsibilities as outlined in the job description and comply with medical protocols and departmental policies.
- Work collaboratively with patients, visitors, healthcare providers, and staff to build strong relationships and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive emergency medical vehicles and respond to urgent calls for assistance.
- Assess patient conditions to determine necessary treatments.
- Administer various emergency medical procedures to care for injured or ill individuals.
- Perform essential invasive procedures, even under challenging conditions.
- Manage non-medical tasks like crowd control and safeguarding patient belongings when required.
- Safely lift and transport patients, ensuring their stability throughout the journey.
- Provide critical patient information to medical professionals at emergency facilities.
Qualifications:
An Associate’s Degree in Emergency Medical Services/Paramedic or a completion certificate in Emergency Medical Services is required.
- Active and valid South Carolina Driver’s License.
- Current South Carolina EMT license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Preferred FEMA certifications: 100, 200, 700, 800.
- Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) certification must be completed within 60 days of employment.
