Responsibilities:
- Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate comprehensive dental care under Navy Dental Officer supervision.
- Perform periodontal therapy, including scaling and root planing.
- Take, process, and interpret dental radiographs.
- Apply fluoride, sealants, and other preventive treatments.
- Educate patients on oral health and nutrition.
- Document patient care and treatment outcomes accurately.
- Adhere to strict infection control measures and support clinical quality assurance protocols.

Entry Pathways:
- Licensed Civilian Pathway: If you are a graduate of a CODA-accredited Dental Hygiene program and have a current state license, you could enlist directly at the E-6 paygrade.
- Recent Graduate Pathway: Graduates of CODA-accredited programs who are not yet licensed may enlist at the E-4 paygrade.
- In-Service Pathway: Current active or Reserve Sailors may apply after meeting specific milestones.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from a Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) accredited program.
- Must meet Navy medical, legal, and fitness standards.
- Provide a recommendation from your program director.
- Complete interviews with clinical supervisors.
