Description

Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric populations through a combination of standardized testing and observational methods.

Create individualized treatment plans that target both immediate aims and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.

Deliver personalized speech therapy, focusing on various aspects like communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.

Confer with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to formulate unified care strategies.

Provide education to patients and their families to support progress outside clinical settings.

Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and interventions for speech therapy, ensuring seamless care throughout their recovery journey.

Keep thorough and timely documentation that aligns with all guidelines set forth at state, federal, and organizational levels.

Stay informed about the latest advancements in your field through continuous learning and collaboration with peers.

Education Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.

If ASHA-certified, completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required.

Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.

Skills Expertise in applying evidence-based treatment methods for all age groups, with a thorough understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

Ability to modify therapeutic techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and language backgrounds.

Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with electronic medical records and documentation requirements.
