The Opportunity:

EPD is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Assembler to join our Manufacturing team.

This position is responsible for performing electrical assembly of switchboards and electrical control systems, ensuring compliance with UL-891 standards, maintaining safe work practices, and supporting production schedules. The Electrical Assembler works closely with Supervisors, Mechanical Assemblers, Engineering, and Production teams to ensure products are manufactured accurately, efficiently, and on time.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to build technical manufacturing skills while creating a pathway toward advancement into Lead Electrical Assembler and Manufacturing Leadership positions.

What You'll Do:

Electrical Assembly

  • Assemble electrical components, wiring systems, and switchboard assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Install wiring, devices, control components, and electrical hardware accurately and efficiently.
  • Perform assembly activities in accordance with UL-891 manufacturing standards.
  • Verify completed work meets quality and workmanship requirements.
  • Support production schedules through timely completion of assigned tasks.

Quality & Compliance

  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the assembly process.
  • Identify defects, discrepancies, and non-conformances and report them appropriately.
  • Ensure assemblies meet customer specifications and engineering requirements.
  • Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality documentation.

Safety & Workplace Excellence

  • Follow OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workstation.
  • Properly utilize tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in safety training, audits, and improvement initiatives.
  • Report hazards and safety concerns promptly.

Production Support

  • Record assembly activity and production metrics within Global Shop Solutions (GSS).
  • Support manufacturing efficiency initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical Assemblers and other departments to maintain production flow.
  • Participate in cross-training activities to support workforce flexibility.
  • Assist with new product introductions and manufacturing improvements.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with Supervisors, Leads, and fellow assemblers to achieve production goals.
  • Communicate production issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Support team objectives while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  • Participate in daily production meetings and department activities.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace culture.

What You Bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical certificate in Electrical Technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of electrical assembly or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with electrical hand tools and assembly equipment.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday while supporting warehouse operations and inventory activities.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to lift bulky or awkwardly shaped items weighing up to 35 pounds from floor level or above shoulder height.
