Job Description: Innkeeper / Hotel Manager

The Marsh Hotel, Bar & Coffee is seeking an Innkeeper to oversee all staff and

operations of the hotel. This key position is responsible for achieving exceptional guest

and team member satisfaction to attain all set objectives. Responsibilities

include directing day-to-day operations (hands-on role), creative problem solving,

revenue & inventory management, financial accountability, managing people, ensuring

guest satisfaction as well as proper care and maintenance of the hotel and social media

savvy. To be successful in this role, you should be detail oriented, passionate about

guest service and a self-starter. You will aid in making every guest’s stay an

exceptional experience and model the behavior for the entire team.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of entire hotel
  • Assist all team members in any and all ways to ensure an amazing guest

experience

  • Function as Hotel Guest Services / Bartender / Barista consistent with the

operating model

  • Manage rates and availability to ensure optimization of revenue
  • Manage labor and other controllable expenses
  • Ensure guest and team member satisfaction
  • Ensure proper training of new employees
  • Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
  • Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
  • Ensure 100% cleanliness throughout the hotel at all times
  • Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of

business to competitors)

  • Process daily accounting
  • Properly maintain physical asset

Skills / Requirements

  • Three or more years successful experience in operations role (department

supervisor, lead agent, director of operations, etc.)

  • Proven ability to drive excellence in guest satisfaction
  • Food or Bar management experience highly preferred.
  • Tech savvy – ability to quickly learn software and self-motivated to learn on own

through use of available resources

  • Understanding of hotel operations and business processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven hands-on style leadership
  • Problem-solving aptitude
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred
  • Highly organized, efficient and proactive
  • Skilled at community engagement / relationship building
