We are seeking a warm, skilled, and passionate perinatal therapist to join our team. This clinician will provide psychotherapy services to individuals navigating pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, infertility, pregnancy loss, parenting stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and related life stressors.
Position Summary
The perinatal therapist will provide outpatient psychotherapy to adults during the perinatal period, including pregnancy and postpartum. The ideal candidate is experienced in women’s mental health, values collaborative care, and is comfortable working with complex emotional and relational dynamics that arise during the transition to parenthood.
This roll offers the opportunity to work within a supportive interdisciplinary environment alongside psychiatric providers, nurses and medical assistants.
Responsibilities
Provide individual psychotherapy for perinatal and reproductive mental health concerns
Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
Supports patients experiencing:
Postpartum depression and anxiety, PTSD, or bipolar disorder
Birth trauma
Pregnancy-related mood disorders
Infertility and reproductive challenges
Pregnancy and infant loss/grief
Parenting stress and identity transitions
Relationship and family adjustment concerns
Utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as CBT, ACT, DBT-informed skills, attachment-based therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed interventions
Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation
Collaborate with psychiatric providers, OB/GYNs, pediatricians, doulas, lactation consultants, and community supports as appropriate
Participate in team meetings, case consultation, and ongoing professional development
Qualifications
Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work or Counseling Psychology
Active independent licensure in Massachusetts (LICSW, LMHC, PsyD, or PhD preferred)
Experience working in perinatal, postpartum, or women’s mental health populations
Strong Clinical Assessment and psychotherapy skills
Commitment to compassionate, inclusive, and culturally responsive care
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
PMH-C certification or interest in obtaining certification
Specialized training in perinatal mental health, trauma, attachment, or reproductive psychology
Experience with couples or family work
Experience in outpatient or integrated care settings
Compensation is based on candidate experience, qualifications, and certifications and licenses. Annual ranges listed are based on a full-time, 40 hours per week position.
Salary Range
$65,000 $95,000 USD
