Description

Givens is Driven To Deliver - both for our customers and our employees. Since 1957 Givens has provided customers a single source solution for warehouse, distribution, transportation, packing and crating and air freight services. We are looking a Warehouse Lead for our warehouse. As the Warehouse Lead you will assist the Warehouse Supervisor in shipping, receiving, keeping an accurate inventory, operating a forklift and other warehouse operational needs. You will help lead staff in the support of operations to satisfy customer expectations and meet company goals.

Position Objective:

Assist supervisor in coordinating warehouse operations. Responsible for leading team towards goals in receiving, shipping and inventory accuracy.

Duties:

  • Plan staffing needs by communicating with supervisor to align headcount to labor needs for the day, ideally planning for the next shift
  • Use WMS data to improve operational efficiency and troubleshoot problems
  • Maintain documentation in line with shipping and receiving SOPs, including but not limited to vendor/driver logs, receiving documents, bills of lading, etc
  • Provide feedback to supervisor regarding performance of subordinates
  • Assist supervisor in training and development of new associates
  • Responsible for opening or closing the facility daily
  • Maintain high level of professionalism in all communication with associates, offices, and/or customers
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area for all associates
  • Perform the duties of supervisor on a limited basis

Experience:

  • Previous leadership experience in a warehousing environment
  • At least two years of warehousing experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Preferred WMS, and RF technology experience
  • SAP is a plus
