Position Summary
The primary role of the Mechanic/electrician II is to lead the maintenance team and support company objectives by maintaining and enhancing equipment to meet production requirements.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up, repair, install, and maintain machinery equipment including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; perform preventive maintenance and continuous improvements.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical/electrical malfunctions and participate in plant shut‑down maintenance work.
- Fabricate, assemble, and install mechanical/electrical systems using appropriate tools.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance managers, and master mechanics on projects.
- Document and communicate repair status and events to improve problem solving.
- Adhere to plant safety, food safety, SQF, and audit requirements.
Required Education, Skills & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to read, write, and interpret English documents.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing equipment (3‑phase motors, control wiring, 24
VDC, 120
VAC, 208/220
VAC, 480
VAC).
- Experience with controls for conveyor systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, and valves.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and use measuring tools and test equipment.
- Experience with lock‑out tag‑out, hot work, confined space, and HECPS training preferred.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Working Conditions
Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to standing, moving, conveyors, hot/cold, wet/dry conditions, loud noise, and frequent reaching, pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and bending. Lifting and carrying tasks may be required.
