Why AI?

The AI skills gap across the global economy is real . The rapid pace of technological change has created a massive divide — one that research is now beginning to quantify. According to Deloitte , 68% of executives worldwide report moderate to significant gaps in their skillsets. At the same time, IBM predicts that 40% of the global workforce will need to reskill by 2027 to keep up with AI adoption.

But this gap doesn't affect everyone equally. According to 18 studies , women are adopting AI tools at significantly lower rates than men — creating a new potential barrier to career progression and participation in the future workforce. For women who want to enter, stay relevant, and lead in the tech space, specialized AI education is no longer optional. It's essential.

Why WE LEAD?

📉 Women hold less than 30% of tech positions globally, while the percentage in Greece "falls" to 20%. These numbers remain similarly low for the field of Artificial Intelligence in particular. Research shows that women are significantly underrepresented both in the professional field and in education, with men earning three times more AI-related doctoral degrees than women.

WE LEAD was founded by Libra Philanthropies to put an end to this pattern. By offering both technical and human-skills training, we are committed to helping bridge the gender gap in the tech space.

🎯 WE LEAD offers a holistic range of programs, workshops, and support services designed to empower women in tech. It's worth noting that WE LEAD's first bootcamps, launched in 2023 in Front-end and Back-end Development, were a huge success. Two more followed: Data Science & Business Intelligence in 2024–2025, and Software Testing in 2026. Today, three years on, 3 in 4 WE LEAD graduates are working in tech.
