Front Office Manager – Surgery

Indiana University Health is seeking a Front Office Manager in the Department of Surgery to provide assistance to the Practice Administrator in planning, budgeting and overall operations, including special projects, analysis, and policies and procedures. The incumbent will plan, coordinate and manage ongoing analysis, development and implementation of methods and systems to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of services and functions. They will provide leadership for the development and management of overall front office support to align with the organization’s strategic goals.

This fully onsite role is Monday‑Friday day shift at Emerson Hall. Ideal candidates should have previous experience working within a healthcare setting and preference for individuals with prior people‑leadership experience.

Key Relationships

  • Reports to: Service Line Administrator
  • Direct Reports: TBD
  • Key Relationships: Various divisions within the surgery department

Candidate Qualifications

  • Knowledge in business applications.
  • Ability to plan and manage the utilization of resources.
  • Ability to facilitate and lead work groups.
  • Application of organization personnel policies and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring timely results.
  • High level of interpersonal, problem‑solving and analytical skill.
  • Knowledge of the organization and private practice billing processes.
  • Knowledge of third‑party payer regulations.
  • Three years of ambulatory practice experience.
