Aurum Construction is seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join our growing team in Fort Worth.

As the self-perform concrete division of Goldenrod Companies, Aurum plays a key role in delivering large-scale commercial, multifamily, industrial, and mixed-use developments across the country. This position offers the opportunity to work on complex projects while partnering directly with Operations and Project Management to drive financial performance and project success.

What You'll Do

Project Financial Management

• Own the financial performance and job cost accuracy of assigned construction projects
• Manage project setup, budgets, cost codes, contracts, and change orders
• Monitor project financial health, identify risks, and support margin protection efforts
• Partner closely with Project Managers on forecasting, cost control, and financial decision-making
• Ensure accurate and timely project cost reporting

Owner Billing & Cash Flow Management

• Prepare and manage owner billings in accordance with contract requirements
• Coordinate billing documentation, compliance requirements, and lien waivers
• Monitor receivables and support collection efforts
• Assist with project cash flow forecasting and financial planning
• Help ensure timely payment and strong project cash management

Contract & Compliance Administration

• Manage subcontractor and vendor compliance documentation
• Review insurance certificates, lien waivers, and contract requirements
• Verify invoices against contract terms, approved change orders, and project budgets
• Partner with internal teams to ensure compliance before payment and billing activities

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

• Prepare project accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Reconcile job costs, work-in-progress (WIP), and contract balances
• Support monthly close processes and financial reporting
• Maintain organized, audit-ready project financial documentation
• Assist with internal, lender, and audit requests

Systems & Process Excellence

• Execute project accounting functions within CMiC, Textura, and related systems
• Maintain strong documentation and financial controls
• Support process improvements and accounting best practices as the company continues to grow

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of construction accounting or project accounting experience
• Strong understanding of job cost accounting, WIP reporting, and construction financials
• Experience with owner billings, subcontract compliance, and contract administration
• CMiC, Textura, or similar construction ERP experience preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers, Operations, and Accounting teams

Pay: $70,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
