Responsibilities

• Manage and prioritize daily dispatch schedules for freight movement, ensuring timely pickups and deliveries
• Utilize transportation management systems such as Pallet/Tenet Management plan routes, track shipments, and analyze data for continuous improvement
• Coordinate with drivers, carriers, and warehouse teams via multi-line phone systems to facilitate efficient communication
• Monitor GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routing, and respond swiftly to any issues or delays
• Oversee shipping & receiving processes, including freight documentation, data entry, and compliance with safety regulations
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, delivery statuses, and incident reports using AS400 and other data management tools
• Provide leadership in fleet management tasks such as vehicle scheduling, maintenance coordination, and 3PL (third-party logistics) partnerships

Requirements

• Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment with strong analysis skills
• Proficiency with transportation management systems like Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms
• Familiarity with GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and transportation planning software
• Excellent communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for interacting with drivers, clients, and internal teams
• Strong data entry skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently using multi-line phone systems and data management tools like SyteLine or AS400
• Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures along with freight documentation standards
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
