Clean Harbors is seeking a Senior Diesel Mechanic to lead our dedicated team. In this role, you will oversee daily shop operations, supervise maintenance work, ensure fleet compliance with DOT regulations, and maintain detailed service and parts records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize Health and Safety by adhering to safe work practices, policies, and procedures at all times.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshoot, diagnose failures, and make necessary repairs, including offsite road service calls.
  • Complete daily checklists to ensure safe operation of assigned units.
  • Communicate any issues with equipment promptly and ensure daily maintenance is conducted.
  • Maintain and submit all paperwork for tracking preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct safety checks and annual vehicle inspections following compliance with federal and provincial laws.
  • Ensure proper equipment parking in accordance with facility permits and DOT regulations.
  • Uphold all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
  • Understand and adhere to Clean Compliance Standards.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience with diesel engines.
  • 1+ years of experience with DOT inspections is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical systems, ECMs, fuel and air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, and engines.
  • Proficient in the diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of heavy-duty equipment, including forklifts, roll-off trucks, box trucks, tractors, and tankers.
  • Capable of using tools and equipment for diagnostic and repair tasks.
  • Must pass a background check, drug test, and physical examination upon hire.
