Reports to: Head of School / IB PYP Coordinator / Dean of Students

Salary Range: $45,000–$50,000 annually (based on experience)

Overview

Hillel Community Day School is seeking a warm, collaborative, and innovative Grades 3/4 General Studies Teacher to join our growing faculty. As an IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Candidate School, we are looking for an educator who believes learning should be joyful, inquiry-driven, and meaningful. The ideal candidate creates an engaging classroom where students develop strong academic skills while building curiosity, confidence, creativity, and independence. The teacher will work closely with Hebrew and Judaic Studies teachers, as well as special subject teachers, to provide an integrated educational experience that reflects Hillel's mission and values.

Responsibilities

  • Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Plan and teach inquiry-based, high-quality instruction in literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies aligned with the IB Primary Years Programme.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess student learning and use data to guide instruction.
  • Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field (Master's encouraged).
  • 2 years of elementary teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
