Dozer/Excavator Operator – GPS (Pipe Layer / Utilities) – Columbia, SC (Local + Statewide Projects)

Superior Skilled Trades is hiring experienced Heavy Equipment Operators for a company based out of Columbia, SC. This position offers a strong mix of local work in the Columbia area and opportunities to work on projects throughout South Carolina, providing consistency along with variety in your work environment.

$105/day per diem is provided for jobsites located more than 72 miles from your residence.

Pay & Schedule:

• Pay: $20–$24/hr DOE + Plenty of Overtime Available
• Hours: Full-Time | 50–58 hours/week
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM | Saturday work as needed
• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: Temp-to-Perm
• Per Diem: $105/day for jobsites 72+ miles from home

Job Description:

As a Dozer/Excavator Operator – GPS, you will:

• Operate GPS-equipped dozers and excavators safely and efficiently
• Perform rough and finish grading, trenching, and site preparation
• Assist with pipe laying and underground utility installation
• Work on the ground performing manual labor as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, grade stakes, and elevations
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
• Follow all safety policies and wear PPE correctly

Qualifications:

• 3–5+ years operating dozers and/or excavators
• GPS machine-control experience required
• Pipe laying or underground utilities experience preferred
• Strong grading skills (rough and finish)
• Ability to read site plans and elevations
• Willingness to perform manual labor
• Comfortable working on both local and out-of-town projects
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Additional Requirements:

• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Must pass background check & drug screen
• Proper use of PPE is required: steel-toe boots, hard hat, high-visibility vest, safety glasses, gloves
