You'll provide essential medical care and promote a healthy environment for students ages 3-18, working onsite at potentially any public or private school within the district. Your expertise as a registered nurse will be crucial in maintaining the health and safety of the school community.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (NYS) is required.
- Experience in a school nursing, pediatric, LPN, or LVN capacity is highly valued.
- Strong familiarity with NYS health requirements for youth in educational settings.
- Confident in providing assessments, routine screenings, and first aid in a school setting.
- Capable of caring for students across a wide age range (3-18 years).
- Flexibility to be assigned to various school locations as needed.
- Committed to in-person, onsite service; virtual work is not available for this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver routine nursing care and emergency interventions to students and staff.
- Conduct mandated health screenings and assist with state-required health reporting.
- Monitor and manage student health records and collaborate with educational teams.
- Support daily medication administration and management of chronic health conditions.
- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in accordance with state and district guidelines.
