Assess and support students with disabilities for initial placement, progress monitoring, and/or re‑evaluation purposes. Write evaluation reports and read, write, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). Maintain session notes and any other required documents for the purpose of Medicaid billing. Provide “under the direction of” services for teachers of the speech, hearing and handicapped (as assigned), participate in team meetings, write progress notes, and participate in professional development opportunities as they become available. Consult frequently with school personnel and parents regarding the individual student's progress. Undertake continuous professional growth and development related to the field of teaching and/or specific areas of expertise. Other responsibilities may be assigned. The assignment is subject to change. Qualifications New York State Certification in Speech and Language Disabilities (TSHH/TSLD) required. New York State License in Speech‑Language Pathology preferred. Candidates who are not yet fully licensed but are working toward licensure may be considered. Strong collaboration and communication skills. Experience working with students with diverse learning, behavioral, and communication needs.
