Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant

Job Description:

Lighting BS is seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team and support children and individuals in need of occupational therapy services. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to implement therapy plans, assist clients in improving their daily living skills, and promote independence in various settings, including home, school, daycare, and clinic-based environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Occupational Therapist in executing treatment plans tailored to each client's needs.
• Provide hands-on therapy to help clients develop fine motor skills, sensory processing, and daily living skills.
• Document client progress and report findings to the Occupational Therapist.
• Educate and support families, caregivers and other involved professionals on therapy techniques for continued progress.
• Ensure a safe and supportive environment for therapy sessions.

Qualifications:

• Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) required.
• Active Florida state license to practice as a COTA.
• Experience working with children, particularly those with developmental disabilities, is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
