Choral & Vocal Teacher

Overview

Mater Dei High School, a Catholic, co‑educational, college preparatory high school of the Diocese of Orange, is seeking a Choral/Vocal Teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. Position begins on August 3, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Under the direct supervision of the Director of Choral and Vocal Music, support the instructional, operational, and performance needs of the Choral and Vocal Music Program.
• Provide classroom instruction, co‑teach, and vocal support for choral ensembles.
• Serve as the sole teacher for designated instructional days and assigned courses (AP Music Theory and Handbells, if offered).
• Assist with sectionals, voice lessons, and substitute coverage as needed.
• Support administrative coordination of program events, trips, budgets, communications, materials, and performances while advancing the mission and values of Mater Dei High School.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field, plus a California Single Subject Teaching Credential (required).
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum one year of teaching experience in Music Education.
• CPR certification required.

Compensation

$51,444 to $62,888 per year, based on education and years of teaching experience.
