Location: Stuart Country Day School

Season: Fall 2026

Start Date: August 16, 2026

End Date: November 11, 2026

Compensation: $5,000 Stipend

Schedule: Approximately 6 hours per week

About the Role

Stuart Country Day School is seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Middle School Tennis Coach to lead and inspire student-athletes during the Fall 2026 season. This is an exciting opportunity for a coach who is passionate about teaching the game, fostering sportsmanship, and creating a positive team culture where players can develop both on and off the court.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with middle school-aged athletes, emphasizes skill development and character, and is committed to helping every player build confidence while cultivating a lifelong appreciation for tennis.

Responsibilities

Plan and lead engaging practices focused on fundamental tennis skills, footwork, strategy, and match play.

Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive team environment that promotes sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth.

Prepare athletes for practices and interscholastic competitions throughout the season.

Teach proper technique while encouraging effort, improvement, and teamwork.

Supervise student-athletes during practices and matches while maintaining a safe environment.

Communicate effectively with players, families, and school administration regarding schedules and team expectations.

Uphold Stuart Country Day School's values and athletic department standards at all times.

Qualifications

Previous coaching or competitive tennis experience preferred.

Experience working with middle school or youth athletes is a plus.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes of varying skill levels.

Commitment to creating a positive, safe, and development-focused athletic experience.

Ability to pass all required background checks and meet school hiring requirements.
