Position Description
Employees in this classification are responsible for the performance of manual work involving the cleaning and care of buildings. Work is performed under supervision according to established procedures and methods, and is checked frequently and evaluated for the accomplishment of assigned tasks.
Major/Essential Functions
Cleans, sanitize restrooms, disposes of trash from offices, lab common & classrooms, wipes furniture. Cleans glass windows and doors. Removes bio-hazard waste when scheduled
Cleans and maintains equipment in good working order
Clean floors. Clean base boards and corners, strips and waxes floors as needed
Coordinates and assists with the coordination of cleaning work areas with construction staff
Respond to emergency calls to correct or remediate the problem
Must have and maintain valid State of Texas Driver's License and be listed as an approved driver as determined by Risk Management and insurance carrier. Must be able to pass the employee Criminal Background Check.
Actively participates and completes training, personal development and continuing education
Dust, wet mop floor, vacuum, shampoo carpet in assigned areas. Burnishes floor in assigned areas
Responsible for keeping all work areas, equipment clean
Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.)
Remains current with all licensures, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position
Personally, and consistently, demonstrate, display and act in accordance with Texas Tech Health El Paso's Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Serve as a Value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution.

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Required Qualifications
Ability to understand simple written and verbal instructions as evidenced by the completion of an elementary school education
Ability to understand and follow instructions
Ability to learn materials, methods, and equipment used in assigned work
Ability to operate cleaning equipment
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time
