Position Purpose:

At The Home Depot, your safety and security are paramount. As a Corporate Security Supervisor at the Store Support Center (SSC), you will be the frontline representative ensuring a secure environment across our corporate facilities. You will actively monitor all SSC locations to maintain a safe atmosphere for our associates and customers. This role entails providing both security measures and exceptional customer service, particularly in dealing with safety concerns, while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor even in emergencies.

This role may also be referred to as Security Officer or Security Guard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: 30% - Greet and assist individuals entering or exiting the SSC facilities. Oversee security checkpoints and other designated areas to manage events. Provide escort services for associates and visitors upon request.
  • Operational Procedures: 30% - Conduct thorough patrols around the SSC campuses. Investigate suspicious incidents or behavior. Prepare detailed incident reports for security-related issues and interview victims and witnesses as required. Respond promptly to emergency situations on campus.
  • Security Services: 40% - Perform security inspection tours of SSC campuses and document any issues to the appropriate personnel. Utilize security technologies, CCTV, and HR systems to monitor building access points as necessary.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • This position typically reports to the Supervisor Security.
  • No direct reports for this position.

Travel Requirements:

  • Requires infrequent overnight travel, less than 5% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Job involves regular physical exertion, including walking, standing, climbing, and lifting potentially heavy or awkward materials and equipment.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is generally performed in a comfortable indoor setting but may require occasional exposure to factors like dust, fumes, loud noises, and temperature changes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be legally allowed to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and write effectively for report and record-keeping purposes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to positively communicate with associates and visitors.
  • Demonstrated logical skills for inspecting properties to ensure the safety of associates and visitors.

Minimum Education:

  • A high school diploma or GED is typically required.

Preferred Education:

  • Minimal or no additional education requirements.

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

  • Three to six months of relevant experience.

Preferred Years of Work Experience:

  • No minimum previous related work experience required.

Minimum Leadership Experience:
