Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching credential in Special Education
  • Experience working with students in grades Pre K through 12th grade (including elementary, middle, and high school)
  • Strong grasp of individualized education plans (IEPs) and ability to adapt lessons accordingly
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families
  • Background in math instruction advantageous
  • Compassion, patience, and a student-centered mindset

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement personalized lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning abilities
  • Provide direct support and specialized instruction to students in a variety of settings
  • Collaborate on IEPs, assist with assessments, and monitor students progress
  • Work closely with school faculty and support staff to maximize each childs educational experience
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, goals, and concerns
  • Create a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom climate
