Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and organized Human Resources / Administrative Assistant (Temp-to-Hire) to join our team. In this role, you will directly support the company’s Executive Manager with day-to-day HR functions and administrative processes. You will also serve as a primary point of contact for our café managers and baristas. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, basic HR knowledge, a friendly attitude, and a professional demeanor that upholds confidentiality and clear communication across all levels of our team.
Pay
- $18.50 - $20.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Job Type
- Part-time / Temp-to-Hire
- Location: In-office (Riverside, CA) with occasional travel to café locations.
Schedule
- Training Schedule: 10:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Days: 3 to 4 days per week
- Note: Upon completion of the initial 30-day training period, your schedule and hours will be reviewed and finalized, with the potential to expand your hours based on business needs and performance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day HR operations and administrative tasks.
- Manage employee timesheets accurately.
- Maintain digital and physical employee records and filing systems.
- Support the recruitment process by scheduling interviews and sorting resumes.
- Prepare onboarding materials and conduct onboarding sessions for new hires.
- Greet visitors, answer phone calls, and direct inquiries.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience using QuickBooks.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Gmail, etc.).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong comfort level working with computers and learning new software.
- Basic knowledge of California employment laws.
- Conversational Spanish skills (preferred, not required) sufficient to understand and answer basic questions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential sensitive information with discretion.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds at time.
- Ability to navigate a standard office environment.
- Manual dexterity needed for typing and filing.
