About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Property Manager to support the daily operations of our portfolio located in Massachusetts. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow their property management career. This role works closely with the Property Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations while taking on increasing responsibility across key functional areas.

Facility Management

Support the Property Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of our properties

Ensure that properties are maintained to a high standard and in compliance with all relevant regulations and codes

Conduct regular property inspections to identify maintenance issues and coordinate timely resolution

Assist with emergency service coordination and generate incident reports as needed

Develop a working knowledge of maintenance programs and capital improvement projects to support efficient operations and resident service requests

Collaboration

Work alongside Property Operations team members, including maintenance technicians and associates, to carry out daily responsibilities

Analyze rents to aid in substantiating property underwriting

Support the Property Manager in monitoring regulatory compliance and reinforcing company policies and procedures

Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with local vendors and contractors

Participate in bidding out property services to vendors and support the review of vendor contracts

Resident Services

Handle resident inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner

Support leasing efforts for available units and assist with property marketing

Coordinate resident onboarding and offboarding processes, and assist with eviction procedures in partnership with the Property Manager and legal counsel

Property Reporting

Track and report leasing operations metrics including responding to inquiries, coordinating tours, processing applications, lead-to-lease conversion and assisting with lease execution and renewals

Assist in managing property-level budgets and tracking expenses to ensure alignment with allocated budgets

Prepare and maintain operating reports on a weekly, monthly, and annual cadence

Track delinquency and unpaid balances and support collections efforts on past and current residents

Experience

2–3 years of experience in property management or a related real estate operations field

Strong organizational, documentation, and task management skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to property management, including fair housing laws

Familiarity with local Boston real estate market

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed

This position requires limited (3-4 hours per week) of travel within Massachusetts
