Work Schedule: Full Time, 68.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Days
Pay: $21.49 - $27.94 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience
This position requires onsite presence and does not allow for hybrid or remote work options.
Summary: In this vital role, you will provide urgent and emergent patient care while working under the guidance of healthcare professionals, including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses.
Responsibilities:
- Manage patient flow in the department, optimizing throughput and keeping patients informed of any delays.
- Observe and monitor patients, immediately notifying providers or RNs if any patient exhibits distress.
- Prepare patients for examinations, assisting them before, during, and after their visits with healthcare providers.
- Perform medical procedures such as inserting Foley catheters, complex splinting, and venipuncture for blood draws or saline lock placement.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in exam and treatment rooms, ensuring equipment is sanitized according to established protocols and that supply levels are adequate.
- Utilize critical thinking skills and decisive judgment and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum Required Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Required Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification. Proficiency in IV procedures is required within 6 months of hire. One of the following credentials is needed: CMA; RMA; State licensure as EMT, EMT-I, or Paramedic; completion of military medic course (does not require renewal); or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Minimum Experience: No prior experience required.
- BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer must be obtained prior to your start date and must remain valid for at least sixty days after hire.
