Material Handler - 2nd Shift

The Material Handler supports safe and efficient production and warehouse operations through material handling, staging, loading, receiving, labeling, and production support activities. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to quality, food safety, and workplace safety procedures. This position requires the flexibility to work various shifts, including Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, and overtime, as needed. Weekend shifts may be mandated based on business needs.
Perform shipping and receiving activities in accordance with established procedures, including material verification, documentation review, and discrepancy reporting.
Accurately record production activity on the Daily Shift Production Report, including production counts, packaging lots, ingredient lots, finished goods lots, location, and required comments.
Support bagging room operations during operator break periods and respond to metal detector alerts by verifying the rejected bag is removed from the line prior to restart.
Follow the written trailer inspection process and execute the required loading pattern while ensuring damaged product is not loaded.
Verify lot codes and quantities on the bill of lading against received materials and document discrepancies.
Stage components in accordance with FIFO requirements.
Use the computer labeling program to generate pallet flags, tote production records, and receiving flags.
Maintain compliance with established operational, quality, food safety, and workplace safety procedures while performing assigned tasks.
Work Experience
1-2 years in an industrial manufacturing environment required. Prior forklift or tow motor experience preferred. Proven ability to successfully meet customer and management deadlines.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); equivalent experience and/or training; Essential Capabilities (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Attributes)
