At Dils Roofing, we're hiring an Estimator who treats estimating as a craft, not just data entry. You'll become the estimating expert for residential, commercial, and HOA reroof projects while working alongside an experienced sales and operations team that values accuracy, communication, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Own

• Evaluate commercial and multifamily roofing projects and develop competitive, profitable estimates.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for materials and labor using estimating software.
• Assess roof assemblies including: TPO, PVC, Modified bitumen, Built-up roofing, Metal, Tile, and Asphalt Shingles
• Identify repair versus replacement and re-cover versus tear-off scenarios.
• Build clear, complete scopes of work aligned with manufacturer specifications and warranty requirements.
• Prepare cost estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, disposal, overhead, and contingency while protecting project margins.
• Develop client-ready proposals and bid packages and manage accurate, on-time submissions.
• Structure phased reroofing projects across multiple buildings while balancing budget cycles, weather windows, and resident impact.
• Coordinate closely with Sales, Project Management, and Operations to develop accurate scopes, pricing strategies, and smooth project handoffs.
• Spend the majority of your time in our Vista office collaborating with Sales and Operations, with occasional site visits when field verification is needed.
• Maintain organized records of takeoffs, estimates, and bid history while supporting a clean handoff to operations.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years estimating commercial and/or multifamily roofing, or equivalent field-to-estimating experience.
• Working knowledge of low-slope and steep-slope roofing systems, assemblies, and installation methods.
• Proficiency with takeoff software, aerial measurement tools (GAF Quickmeasure, Roof Chief), and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong math, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to produce accurate work under deadlines.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and manufacturer details.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to local jobsites as needed.

Nice to Have

• Experience with multifamily, HOA, or property management roofing programs.
• Experience planning phased reroofing projects.
• Manufacturer certifications or training (CertainTeed, GAF, DuroLast, Gaco, OC).
• Experience with CRM, estimating, or project management software.
• OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or equivalent safety training.

• $90,000 annual base salary

Physical Requirements

• Access rooftops using ladders and walk roofs of varying slopes.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions during inspections.
• Lift and carry measurement equipment.
• Split time between the office and field.
