As a Data Platform Sales Representative, you will play a vital role in Oracle's mission to empower organizations by connecting State and Local Governments and Educational institutions with innovative tools to thrive in today's digital landscape.
In this dynamic position, you will engage with key customers in the public sector and education sectors, focusing on Sacramento. Responsibilities:
- Identify what motivates State and Local Government and Education customers to adopt new technologies and how to effectively engage their unique needs.
- Collaborate with the Oracle ecosystem and technology partners to enable transformative solutions.
- Foster long-term strategic relationships within prominent government and educational institutions.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline while developing customer-centric account plans that align with public sector priorities.
- Act as a trusted advisor in guiding customers to choose and adopt Oracle solutions tailored specifically for their needs.
- Develop strong client relationships, establishing trust and emotional connections with the Oracle brand.
- Establish connections with key executives, technology leaders, and decision-makers within government and educational institutions.
- Understand and communicate the value of Oracle’s offerings and effectively convey our mission to these customers.
- Implement sales and business development initiatives to enhance knowledge of Oracle Data and PaaS Solutions within your accounts.
- Engage in proactive prospecting within assigned accounts to uncover and develop new sales opportunities.
- Lead complex sales cycles, leveraging support from internal and external resources, including Pre-Sales and Product Management.
- Travel as needed (this role may be virtual).
What You Bring:
- Proven experience selling to public sector and educational leaders, including C-level executives.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset, excelling in dynamic environments.

- Experience in selling SaaS, IaaS, PaaS, and Database solutions to government and education sectors.
- Familiarity with open source and cloud tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

- A history of exceeding sales targets with complex solutions.
