Location: Houston, TX

Pay: $14.00 – $14.50 per hour

Schedule: Full-time; overnight audit shifts 2–3 days per week, with remaining shifts at the front desk

Job Summary

Holiday Inn Houston S – NRG Area – Med Center is seeking a dependable and guest-focused Front Desk Agent / Night Auditor to join our team. This position will be responsible for providing excellent guest service, assisting with check-ins and check-outs, answering guest questions, and ensuring smooth hotel operations.

The role will include Night Audit shifts 2–3 days per week, with the remaining scheduled days covering standard Front Desk Agent duties. The ideal candidate is professional, reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both guest-facing and overnight shifts.

Key ResponsibilitiesFront Desk Duties

  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Check guests in and out using hotel systems.
  • Answer phone calls, emails, and guest inquiries.
  • Assist guests with reservations, billing questions, room requests, and general hotel information.
  • Handle guest concerns and escalate issues when needed.
  • Process payments, deposits, and incidental holds according to hotel policy.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area.
  • Communicate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, management, and other departments.

Night Audit Duties

  • Complete nightly audit procedures accurately and on time.
  • Balance daily transactions, room revenue, payments, and reports.
  • Review arrivals, departures, no-shows, and guest accounts.
  • Prepare daily reports for management.
  • Ensure guest requests and overnight issues are handled professionally.
  • Maintain hotel security and monitor activity during overnight hours.
  • Assist with early morning guest needs, check-outs, and breakfast-related inquiries when applicable.

Qualifications

  • Previous hotel front desk or customer service experience preferred.
  • Night audit experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be reliable and able to work overnight shifts 2–3 days per week.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in busy or difficult situations.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to follow procedures.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and multitask as needed.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.

Ideal Candidate
