Duties
- Assist with planting, transplanting, and maintaining a variety of trees, shrubs, flowers, and lawns to ensure healthy growth and aesthetic appeal
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely for tasks such as edging, trimming, mowing, and soil preparation
- Support landscape maintenance activities including lawn care, mowing, pruning, tree trimming, and irrigation system installation or repair
- Help with hardscape projects like installing pathways, patios, retaining walls, and other outdoor features
- Participate in snow plowing operations during winter months to keep pathways clear and safe for pedestrians and vehicles
- Conduct routine garden care tasks such as watering, fertilizing, mulching, and pest control under supervision
- Support equipment maintenance and basic repairs on machinery like excavators or other landscaping tools to ensure optimal performance
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot landscaping equipment and power tools effectively
- Experience with lawn care practices including mowing, edging, fertilizing, and aeration
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques such as pruning, tree care (trimming or removal), and irrigation system management
- Familiarity with gardening principles and horticulture best practices for plant health and soil management
- Ability to use hand tools safely and efficiently for various landscaping tasks
- Basic understanding of construction processes related to hardscape installation or site preparation
- Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new techniques in landscaping and maintenance
