Licensed Practical Nurse / Medical Surgical Rehabilitation Floor

Job Summary:

This RN/LPN position is located in Madison, Wisconsin, within an inpatient rehabilitation hospital specializing in high-acuity adult patient care. The role involves providing nursing services in a 50-bed acute inpatient rehabilitation facility with a focus on patients recovering from neurological injuries, orthopedic trauma, and other complex conditions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The shift is scheduled from 12:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Location: Madison, WI
• Shift: 12:30 PM to 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts), minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: BLS certification; 1+ year of nursing experience in skilled nursing or other 24/7 skilled care environment; valid nursing license; experience in med surg or inpatient rehabilitation related to patient acuity preferred
• Preferred Qualifications: Med surg or inpatient rehabilitation experience related to patient acuity
• Additional Information: 70% of patient cases are referred from the Trauma Center. The inpatient rehab hospital functions similarly to a medical-surgical unit at times, requiring staff to assist and respond to patient needs promptly.
• Schedule: 12-hour Night shifts, with every other weekend and holiday rotations. Staff must clock out for a 30-minute break, with two additional 15-minute paid breaks. No float requirement currently, but may be required to float to a satellite IRF within 20 minutes in the near future.
• Responsibilities: Provide high-acuity inpatient nursing care, respond to call lights, assist team members, and ensure patient safety in a dynamic environment.
