Job Description:
Shift: First Shift
This position will fill in for a teacher that will be out starting August 27th - October 30th. Hours will be roughly 7:30 am - 3:30 pm.
The Long-Term Latin Substitute Teacher at Regents School of Austin provides consistent instructional leadership during an extended teacher absence, ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a well-ordered classroom environment. This individual is responsible for delivering Latin instruction aligned with established curriculum and lesson plans, fostering student engagement, maintaining classroom expectations, and supporting students' academic and character formation.
As a member of the Regents community, the Long-Term Latin Substitute Teacher supports the school's mission of providing a classical and Christian education that forms students in truth, goodness, and beauty while partnering with families and colleagues to promote student success.

RESPONSIBILITIES
•
Follow the regular teacher's lesson plans to ensure continuity of instruction and student learning
•
Lead classroom activities in a manner that encourages student engagement and participation
•
Maintain a structured, respectful, and positive classroom environment
•
Manage student behavior in accordance with school policies and expectations
•
Supervise students during class transitions, lunch, or other assigned duties
•
Adapt to various classroom settings, grade levels, and instructional needs
•
Carry out additional duties as assigned, including proctoring or assisting with school operations
SUBSTITUTE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience teaching Latin strongly preferred
- Degree, coursework, or academic concentration in Latin, Classical Studies, or a related field preferred
- Ability to provide consistent instruction and maintain continuity of learning during an extended teacher absence
- Commitment to supporting Regents School of Austin's classical and Christian mission and cultivating an orderly, respectful classroom environment
Experience and Skills:
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
•
Demonstrated Christian faith and alignment with the mission of Regents School of Austin
•
Bachelor's degree required
•
Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred
•
Strong classroom management and communication skills
•
Ability to adapt quickly and effectively in a variety of classroom settings
•
CPR and First Aid certification required (or willingness to obtain)
