Company Overview

We're currently partnered with a nationally recognized general contractor that is looking to add a Structural Steel Project Manager to their Dallas team. This individual will serve as the boots on the ground for an upcoming large-scale project, taking ownership of structural steel fabrication and erection activities from preconstruction through installation and turnover.

This is a long-term opportunity with a highly respected builder that delivers complex, large-scale projects across commercial, aviation, healthcare, mission critical, and institutional sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all structural steel fabrication and erection activities from procurement through project completion
  • Coordinate with fabricators, erectors, engineers, subcontractors, and internal project teams
  • Manage shop drawing reviews, RFIs, procurement schedules, and fabrication timelines
  • Oversee field erection activities, sequencing, crane picks, and installation logistics
  • Monitor quality control, schedule adherence, and issue resolution throughout the structural package
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and "eyes and ears" on site for all structural steel operations
  • Provide regular updates to project leadership and proactively identify and mitigate risks

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience managing structural steel projects from a project management perspective
  • Strong background overseeing steel fabrication and erection on large ground-up projects
  • Experience coordinating shop drawings, procurement, sequencing, and field operations
  • Ability to lead and communicate effectively with fabricators, erectors, field teams, and project stakeholders
  • Experience on large commercial, industrial, aviation, healthcare, mission critical, or institutional projects preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
