Job Summary:
RAYUS Radiology is seeking a PRN Mammography Technologist to support our Avon and Indianapolis Northwest locations. In this role, you will perform mammography exams to assist in diagnosing and treating diseases or injuries for patients of all ages. The position requires expertise in diagnostic radiology and mammography principles, as well as proficiency in operating and maintaining mammography equipment. This PRN position offers flexible day shifts Monday through Friday at either the Avon or Northwest facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(55%) Patient Care & Imaging
- Produces diagnostic images in assigned area and performs quality control tasks as assigned
- Evaluates patients prior to exams for any precautions or contraindications related to the procedure.
- Performs mammography examinations according to a high quality standard in order to service the patient and referring physician
- Fosters positive relationships and encourages excellent customer service with patients, physicians, visitors, and colleagues.
- Maintains and adjusts equipment
(40%) Department Support
- Participates in staff meetings with employee involvement
- Cultivates and maintains strong, positive relationships with radiologists and referring physicians.
- Assists in maintaining an updated radiographic protocol manual
- Accurately maintains patient records within Radiology Information Software
- Maintains an orderly and clean work area to promote good safety habits for patients and co-workers
- Supports the training of new team members by offering resources and technical expertise.
(5%) Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required:
- ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing
- Graduate of the American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of radiography Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Must have training and experience sufficient to competently perform radiographic procedures independently
- Advanced modality certification
- Must have continuing CEU's in modality as required by MQSA or state specific
