Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our educational team for the coming school year 2026-27 school year. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tailored lesson plans that address the unique needs of students with disabilities, including speech therapy, literacy, math, and physical education.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and review Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) ensuring compliance with legal and educational standards.
- Employ evidence-based behavioral management techniques and behavioral therapy strategies to promote positive student behaviors.
- Utilize learning technology and instructional design principles to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
- Adapt curriculum content for students with sensory impairments such as deaf or visually impaired education, ensuring accessibility.
- Provide support in early intervention programs and preschool settings, fostering foundational skills in young learners.
- Incorporate music therapy, recreational therapy, or other therapeutic modalities when appropriate to support holistic development.
- Engage in classroom management practices that promote a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing methods and provide tutoring or academic advising as needed.
- Maintain thorough documentation of student progress, IEP goals, and behavioral records; proofread reports for accuracy.
- Foster effective communication with students, parents, caregivers, and colleagues to ensure collaborative support.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience in special education settings is required; experience working with children with autism, developmental disabilities, or sensory impairments is highly valued.
- Demonstrated knowledge of speech therapy techniques, behavioral health strategies, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and instructional design.
- Experience developing curricula tailored for early childhood education or preschool-aged children is preferred.
- Familiarity with learning technology tools used in special education environments.
- Proven ability to manage classrooms effectively while maintaining a positive learning atmosphere.
- Experience working within private school settings or early intervention programs enhances candidacy.
