Property Manager — Charlotte Metro MarketAbout Chanticleer Properties

About Chanticleer Properties

Chanticleer Properties manages residential rental portfolios across the Triangle, Triad, Fayetteville, and Charlotte Metro for owners who want their properties treated as a real investment. We started as an investor ourselves—because we saw a gap between how properties should be managed and how they usually are. Today, we're a small, values-driven team that treats every property as a trust and every tenant interaction as an extension of an owner's reputation. We work to God's glory, which means showing up, solving problems, and doing right by the people we serve—not just following a checklist.

You'll be part of a remote-supported, locally-present team. Leadership is accessible. Systems and processes are documented. And there's room to grow as our Charlotte portfolio expands rapidly.

The Role

You'll be the on-the-ground property manager for our growing Charlotte Metro portfolio (currently 19 units, expanding rapidly). This is not a back-office role—you'll be visible, responsive, and the first point of contact for owners and tenants.

Day-to-day, you'll:

  • Lease vacant units and maintain owner relationships through clear, proactive communication
  • Respond to and coordinate tenant maintenance requests—triaging urgency, scheduling vendors, following up to completion
  • Communicate with tenants about lease terms, rent collection, and property issues in a calm, professional manner
  • Build and manage relationships with local service vendors (plumbers, electricians, contractors); onboard new vendors as the portfolio grows
  • Collect delinquent rent and coordinate small-claims eviction filings when necessary (with legal and accounting support from our offices)
  • Track financials and documentation using property management software to log maintenance, rent collection, and tenant files
  • Represent Chanticleer professionally in all interactions—on calls, in emails, and in person

You'll have access to a company car and full systems support from our Triangle and Triad teams for advertising, rent collection, legal, accounting, and technical guidance.

What We're Looking For

Must-have:

  • Excellent driving record (you'll be visiting properties and meeting tenants/vendors in person)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills—you'll spend significant time on the phone and email with tenants, owners, and contractors
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities—a leasing inquiry, a maintenance emergency, and a rent collection call might all land in the same hour
  • Comfort with people from all backgrounds and ability to treat tenants and owners with genuine respect
  • Problem-solving and resourcefulness—when something breaks, you'll figure out how to fix it, ask for help when needed, and follow through
  • Willingness to learn property management systems, software, and legal requirements on the job (training provided)

Nice-to-have:

  • Prior property management experience (especially in residential leasing, tenant relations, or maintenance coordination)
  • Experience in a customer-facing role with high volume and competing priorities (sales, customer service, property operations, hospitality)
  • Familiarity with property management software (any system—we can teach you ours)
  • Local knowledge of the Charlotte Metro area
  • Experience managing vendors or coordinating multiple contractors
  • Understanding of financial tracking or basic accounting (rent collection, budgeting, reconciliation)

Essential:

  • Curiosity and a growth mindset—you'll encounter problems you haven't seen before and need to figure them out
  • Reliability and follow-through—tenants and owners notice when someone keeps their word
  • Genuine accountability—you own your mistakes and work to make them right
  • Compatibility with our values: integrity, servant leadership, and showing up for people
  • Ability to work well in a hybrid-remote structure with a small team, following up via Slack, email, and occasional video calls

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $55,000–$75,000, based on experience and fit
  • Company car for property management duties
  • Paid time off
  • Professional development support as the role and portfolio grow

Our Commitment to You

We hire people, not just résumés. We're looking for someone who finds meaning in solving real problems for real people. If you're the kind of person who notices when something is broken and wants to fix it—and you're comfortable asking for help when you need it—we'd like to hear from you.

We serve owners and tenants across North Carolina with integrity and genuine care. You'll be part of that mission, and we'll invest in your success. This role is designed for growth: as our Charlotte portfolio expands, so will your responsibilities and compensation.
