Summary
As a Home Health Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will support patients in their recovery and daily living activities by applying your knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology. Reporting to the Occupational Therapist, your role involves assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs, particularly for geriatric and pediatric patients. Your expertise in home health and acute care will be essential in providing compassionate patient care in various settings, including outpatient and skilled nursing facilities. Job Duties
-Provide skilled Occupational Therapy services, on a intermittent basis, to patients, in their homes, in accordance with physician orders
-Under the direction of the Occupational Therapist (OT), provide patient care services, which have been delegated by the Occupational Therapist.
-Under the direction of the OT, assist in evaluation, and development, of the rehabilitative plan of care and in periodic re-evaluation, as required.
-Participate in the preparation of clinical and daily progress notes. All notes are reviewed by the OT and submitted, within 72 hours
-Under the supervision of the OT, assist in evaluation, and development, of the rehabilitative plan of care and in periodic re-evaluation, as indicated
-Observe, and record, activities and findings, in the clinical record and report to the OT, and the physician, the patient's reaction to treatment and any changes in the patient's condition.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of physiology and anatomy
- Proficiency in medical terminology and occupational health
- Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Familiarity with home health care and acute care settings
- Skills in developing and implementing care plans for geriatrics and pediatrics
- Background in patient care within inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing facilities
Job Types: Part-time, PRN, Per diem
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
