Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students across multiple campuses in the Houston area! This full-time opportunity seeks skilled Occupational Therapists (OT) or experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) with a strong background in school-based or pediatric OT services. Youll work within a designated zone, minimizing your commute while making a real impact on students ages 3 through 21.
What youll be doing:
- Conduct comprehensive student evaluations and participate in ARD meetings
- Deliver direct therapy to a caseload of approximately 30-40 students, with consult services for up to 70 students overall
- Collaborate with school teams to develop and implement effective intervention plans
- Create and maintain accurate student documentation using SHARES and Onward health software, as well as Excel logs for IEPs
- Flexibly schedule rotating services, with some students seen every few weeks rather than weekly
- Independently manage your assigned caseload (no assistants/COTAs supporting OT work)
- Travel between 67 assigned schools within your home zone
Key qualifications:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the State of Texas, or COTA with multiple years of relevant school/pediatric experience
- Demonstrated success working with children and adolescents from early childhood through transition age (321)
- Familiarity with school-based documentation systems and legal requirements for IEPs
- Comfortable conducting evaluations and leading treatment independently
- Ability to complete required fingerprinting/background checks
- Not a former employee of the district
