Part Time Bus Driver

Job Overview

We are seeking a responsible and experienced *Bus Driver* to operate our transportation services for student excursions on a day to day as needed basis. This is a part-time supplemental income role.

The ideal candidate will ensure safe, reliable, and courteous transportation while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. This role requires excellent communication skills, a clean driving record, with student safety being the priority.

Duties

• Safely operate the bus, in accordance with traffic laws and company policies.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical functionality.
• Respond promptly to traffic changes, detours, or emergencies using defensive driving techniques and emergency response procedures.
• Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, and any incidents during transit.
• Adhere to all vehicle codes, school policies, and safety protocols including emergency stop procedures.
• Qualifications
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement; experience with school bus driving or paratransit preferred.
• Knowledge of traffic laws, vehicle codes, defensive driving techniques, emergency response procedures for transportation, and school policy knowledge.
• Ability to respond quickly to traffic changes and handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicle operation and basic troubleshooting is a plus.
