The CDL Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of company equipment, exhibits, freight, and materials to and from Shepard branch warehouses, convention centers, customer locations, and event facilities. This position plays a critical role in supporting trade shows and event operations by ensuring freight is delivered safely, accurately, and in compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. In addition to transportation responsibilities, CDL Drivers support branch warehouse operations by assisting with loading and unloading, inventory movement, equipment preparation, and other operational or show site activities as business needs require.

Key Contributions of the Role

Operate safety Class A commercial motor vehicles, including tractor-trailers, in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.

Transport exhibits, event materials, equipment, and freight between Shepard warehouses, convention centers, customer locations, and other destinations throughout the United States.

Complete local, regional, and over-the-road deliveries as business needs require.

Load, unload, inspect, secure, and protect freight.

Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections.

Maintain electronic logging device (ELD) records and Hours of Service documentation.

Complete driver vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs), mileage, fuel, and internal fuel tax agreement (IFTA) documentation.

Report maintenance and safety concerns immediately.

Comply with DOT, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and all transportation laws.

Communicate with supervisors, dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and show site teams.

Assist with warehouse loading, unloading, shipping, receiving, inventory movement, and equipment preparation.

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, lift gates, and other material handling equipment.

Assist with booth materials, installation, dismantling, freight handling, and other show floor operations.

Support warehouse operations during non-driving periods.

Maintain clean vehicles, trailers, warehouse areas, and equipment.

Participate in safety meetings and required training to ensure proper protocol is followed.
