Punahou School is seeking an Administrative Assistant for the Middle School. Under direct supervision, the Administrative Assistant provides administrative support to department management and staff. They will also serve as a resource to staff, students, parents and visitors. Multiple levels available depending on the candidate’s background, skillset, and experience. The primary duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Works well under pressure and scheduled deadlines while handling frequent phone and walk-in interruptions while demonstrating adaptability and flexibility to changing situations. Ensures that appropriate parties are alerted concerning any issues of significance.
- Interact and communicate effectively with a variety of individuals, including students, parents, faculty and staff, both verbally and in writing.
- Coordinates and schedules meetings as needed or requested by administrative deans.
- Completes general clerical duties including, but not limited to: managing paperwork, handling divisional mail, data entry, word processing, making copies, ordering of supplies and schedules equipment repairs as needed.
- Tracks expenditures to include billing, payment collection, payment authorization, as well as managing expense reports as needed.
- Provides administrative support to other departments as needed during slow periods.

Work Year: 12 Months
School Year: 2026-2027
Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Schedule may vary based on operational needs
Minimum Hourly Rate*: $23.00/Hour

Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
- Two (2) years of administrative experience.
- Experience working in a school environment preferred.
- Proficiency with using Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Webex, Microsoft Teams. Working knowledge of relational databases and student information systems.
- Must have flexible thinking and problem solving skills.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrates excellent organizational and anticipatory thinking skills, is detail-oriented, accurate, able to effectively and efficiently handle multiple, simultaneous, and diverse tasks and projects, and prioritize and manage a heavy workload.
- Demonstrates the highest integrity and work ethic.
