This role covers 6 to 7 schools within a thoughtfully designated zone, minimizing commute and providing a balanced caseload. Enjoy a diverse schedule: most direct therapy cases average 3040 students, supplemented by consultation services, allowing you to focus on meaningful client interaction and outcomes. Standard hours are typically 8:00 AM4:00 PM, with occasional variations (7:303:30). This contract position runs the entire academic year, starting August 11, 2026, and ending May 26, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Texas OT license required
- Previous experience providing school or pediatric therapy services
- COTAs considered if highly qualified with several years in school-based or pediatric settings
- Ability to conduct evaluations and participate in ARD meetings
- Willingness to work in-person and travel between assigned schools in a designated zone
- Must not be a former employee of the district
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative OT services to students, focusing on functional improvements in educational settings
- Manage documentation using SHARES and Onward software, plus maintain Excel logs for IEPs
- Independently structure your therapy schedule according to student needs, typically on a rotating basis
- Participate actively in ARD and IEP meetings, sharing expert recommendations
