Staff Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join a growing team on a contract basis. This position is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting specialist who can bring structure to financial records, strengthen reporting accuracy, and support day-to-day accounting operations with minimal oversight. The role offers primarily remote work after initial equipment pickup and focuses on improving accounting processes, maintaining clean financial data, and supporting compliance-related activities.Responsibilities:• Review, reconcile, and organize accounting records to improve accuracy and bring financial data up to date.• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger and supporting documentation.• Analyze balance sheet activity, including asset and equity accounts, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.• Consolidate accounts receivable information and monitor outstanding balances to support accurate reporting.• Produce regular financial statements and internal reports, including profit and loss summaries and balance sheet reporting.• Coordinate contractor setup and process payments while ensuring records are complete and properly maintained.• Support tax-related accounting work, including sales tax tracking, corporate tax support, and filings connected with state revenue requirements.• Use QuickBooks Online to manage accounting transactions, maintain records, and assist with cleanup and project-based accounting needs.
