Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working full-time from 3 PM to 11 PM. In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, high-quality nursing. Position Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for providing direct nursing care and health-related services to residents of Pearson Hall. The LPN works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Director of Nursing, or other designated healthcare professional to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of residents. The LPN assists in implementing care plans, administering medications, monitoring residents' health conditions, and maintaining accurate medical records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Resident Care
- Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and facility policies.
- Observe, assess, and document residents' physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
- Monitor vital signs and report significant changes to the appropriate healthcare provider.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed.
- Respond promptly to resident health concerns and emergencies.
Medication Administration
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Maintain accurate medication administration records (MARs).
- Monitor residents for medication effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of medications.
Care Planning and Documentation
- Assist in developing, implementing, and updating individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential resident records.
- Document nursing interventions, resident progress, incidents, and physician communications.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings as required.
Health and Safety
- Ensure compliance with infection control procedures and safety standards.
- Monitor residents for signs of illness, injury, or behavioral changes.
- Assist with medical appointments and follow-up care as needed.
- Promote a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment.
Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, physicians, and healthcare providers.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, direct care staff, and administration to ensure quality resident care.
- Provide guidance and support to direct care staff regarding resident health needs.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuing education programs.
Qualifications:
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Alabama.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Minimum one (1) year nursing experience preferred.
- Experience working with adults in residential, behavioral health, mental health, or long-term care settings preferred.
- Knowledge of nursing principles, medication administration, and healthcare regulations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
