SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
Provide information on credit union products and services to current and potential members. Prepare, assess, process, and document all required forms and related documentation for consumer loan products. Approve or deny a variety of consumer loan applications, with considerable loan authority. Salary range open to discussion based on any previous Credit Union and/or real estate loan processing experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interview loan applicants and provide information on products that best meet the member’s needs.
- Request and review all required information and documentation to secure a loan.
- Obtain and evaluate credit report to identify credit worthiness of applicant based on industry standards for collateral/equity value.
- Calculate debt-to-income ratios.
- Handle loans of highest complexity, value, and risk.
- Approve or deny loan applications, and explain reasons for denial.
- Inform prospective borrowers of loan commitments and outline of terms.
- Establish repayment and interest schedule based upon loan guidelines and rates.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
- Keep informed of current lending policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Prepare all period-ending lending reports in a timely manner.
- Cross-sell credit union services to qualified members when possible.
- Perform other duties as required by management.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
- Special consideration for established Mortgage Loan Officers (MLO)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Accuracy and mathematical/analytical ability.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks in a confidential and timely manner
- Self-motivated individual, able to work alone.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. This is a full-time position, with a typical 37.50 work week. Regular scheduled days are Monday – Friday, and some Saturday mornings. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, photocopier, fax machine, calculator, phones, postage machine, document scanner, check imaging, and filing cabinets.
