Responsibilities

• Diagnose, treat, and manage disorders of the visual system, eye diseases, and injuries
• Confidently prescribe glasses and contacts as needed
• Review prescriptions and identify special and complex needs
• Perform work accurately despite time pressure and patient volume
• Provide pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery
• Evaluate patients for the presence of diseases and refer as appropriate
• Counsel patients on eye health and contact lens care
• Manage to see 3 patients per hour
