Job Summary

As a Tractor Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that J.B. Hunt tractors and equipment are in optimal working condition. Under close supervision, you will be responsible for reliable maintenance, servicing, and repair tasks. This position involves outdoor work and may require flexibility to work different shifts, including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate foundational technical knowledge of preventative maintenance, part replacements, and basic repairs for tractor systems, including fuel systems, batteries, engines, drivetrains, onboard computers, transmissions, and air brake systems.
• Perform FHWA inspections.
• Work independently while also knowing when to seek assistance.
• Adhere to all safety protocols in the shop environment.
• Communicate professionally with J.B. Hunt personnel and customers.
• Accurately execute basic repairs to meet both company and manufacturer specifications while maintaining standard repair times (SRT) and warranty guidelines.

Shift Schedule

Shift variations will depend on location and business needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• At least 1 year of experience in semi-tractor maintenance and repair or equivalent military training.
• Willingness to work outdoors, in varying weather conditions, and on multiple shifts as needed.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with DOT inspections, FHWA inspections, and air brake systems.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to multitask, read documents, utilize basic computer functions, and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Strong active listening, deductive reasoning, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Self-motivated and driven.

Compensation
