The CNC Setup Operator plays a crucial role in preparing and operating CNC machines, primarily lathes and milling machines, to meet production demands. This position handles both low volume, high-mix jobs and high volume, repetitive production runs. The operator is responsible for machine setup, tool installation, minor maintenance, and quality inspection while ensuring safety compliance and efficient production. The role requires occasional collaboration with programming and engineering teams and operates across day and night shifts. Responsibilities:
Set up CNC lathes and milling machines for production runs
Install and adjust cutting tools and fixtures
Perform quality inspections to ensure product specifications
Conduct routine maintenance and minor repairs on machines
Troubleshoot machine and process issues to minimize downtime
Calibrate machines to maintain precision and accuracy
Monitor production process to ensure efficiency and quality
Handle material loading and unloading safely
Ensure compliance with safety standards and practices
Maintain accurate production and maintenance documentation
Operate CNC machines according to schedules
Qualifications:
1+ years' experience in CNC operation
Technical diploma in machining or manufacturing technology
Knowledge of CNC machining, blueprint reading, and precision measurement
Experience with machine calibration and safety procedures
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good manual dexterity
